Searching for a key, or having the wrong key — dreams like these reflect a situation where something is closed to you. An opportunity you can’t access, a relationship you can’t seem to open up, a part of yourself you’re not letting in.

Control and security

Keys are about control — over your home, over your own life, over who gets let in and who’s kept out. Losing your keys can reflect a fear of losing that control. Having a lot of keys can reflect having a lot of responsibilities.
