The Dream Guide collects a minimum of anonymized data to understand how the site is used and to show advertising. We never sell information about you, and you can withdraw your consent at any time.

Who we are
The Dream Guide (drommeguiden.no) is a website providing information about dream symbols and dream interpretation. The site is owned and operated by Herman Gautefall Olsson, who acts as the data controller under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
What data we collect
We do not collect data that directly identifies you (name, phone number or email address) unless you choose to contact us yourself. The data typically collected automatically when you visit the site is:
- IP address (anonymized/masked before it is stored)
- Which pages you visit, for how long, and in what order
- Clicks and scroll depth on individual pages
- Browser, operating system and approximate geographic area (country/region)
- Referral source (which page or search engine you arrived from)
- Operational data from Cloudflare needed to deliver the site and protect it against abuse
Services we use
We rely on a small number of third-party services to run, analyze and fund the site:
- Google Analytics 4 — anonymized analysis of site usage. Measures how many people visit which pages, how long they stay and where they come from. IP addresses are masked before being stored, and the data is used only in aggregate to improve our content.
- Cloudflare — operationally necessary infrastructure for CDN delivery, DDoS protection and security. Processes technical data such as IP address and request headers in order to deliver the site quickly and safely.
- Google AdSense — we show ads on article pages to
fund the operation of the Dream Guide. If you give consent, Google
may show personalized ads based on your interests; without
consent, only general, non-personalized ads are shown. Google
then sets cookies such as
_gads,IDE,NIDand__gpito deliver, measure and limit the display of ads. See our cookie policy for an overview.
Legal basis
Our processing of your data is based on the following grounds under GDPR:
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): for analytics (Google Analytics 4) and advertising (Google AdSense). You give consent via the consent banner the first time you visit the site, and can withdraw it at any time.
- Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)): for operationally necessary functions such as CDN delivery, DDoS protection and basic security logging via Cloudflare. These cannot be turned off without the site ceasing to function.
Your rights under GDPR
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Rectification — require that inaccurate data be corrected
- Erasure — require that your data be deleted (the "right to be forgotten")
- Data portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
- Object — object to processing based on legitimate interest
- Complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet) if you believe we are processing your data in violation of the rules
How to withdraw consent
Once our consent solution is in place, you will find a link labeled "Cookie settings" in the footer on every page. There you can change your consent for analytics and advertising at any time, or withdraw it entirely. Changes take effect immediately.
